The Strand Hotel, Limerick, will be this year’s venue for the Mid West Job Shop: a Jobsfair and Careers Advice Event. The event is being held on Friday 2nd October and this year the event organisers can confirm over 800 jobs will be available on the day.

In association with ULearning Skillnet, the Department of Social Protection and CPL Resources plc., this half day event (10am-3pm) will provide an opportunity for jobseekers to meet with local companies actively recruiting.  Local training providers are also exhibiting.

Companies attending range from multinationals to local small and medium sized enterprises and include: Regeneron, Kirby Engineering & Construction, Alliance Medical, Carey Glass, Dell, Analog Devices, Atlantic Aviation Group, Optelvision, Beckman Coulter, Mowlam Healthcare and many more. A wide variety of positions are available across many sectors.

Speaking at the launch Ronan O’Boyle said, “This year we have been overwhelmed with the support from local employers and training institutions. Now in its fourth year, 2015 is a bigger event with a much wider variety of jobs.  Ultimately it will contribute to growing a stronger regional economy.”

Jim Lynch, Department of Social Protection (Manager, Mid West Region) said, “The Department of Social Protection is delighted once again to be a partner of this fantastic event.  The Mid West Job Shop is now established on the annual calendar for employment opportunity in the Mid-West.”

Local training providers attending range from Universities and local colleges to training centres. Also available is a panel of free career advisors. These qualified and highly experienced professionals will provide advice in strictest confidence to job seekers regardless of their backgrounds or qualifications. As mentioned by Ann Daly, event coordinator, “If any jobseeker requires assistance with their future career I suggest they visit one of our advisors to help them identify suitable career options”.

Graham Burns of CPL Resources plc. said, “The Mid-West Jobshop is a great event for the region which CPL will continue to support. This year there is a much broader range of sectors represented which underlines the growing employment opportunity in this region.”

The 2015 Mid West Job Shop will be launched by Minister Jan O’Sullivan. Joe Nash with Limerick Live95FM will be broadcasting from within the event.  Entrance is free.  All jobseekers register on entrance.
